Paakuma K-8 School CLOSED Friday, October 11

San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) officials have made the decision to close Paakuma’ K–8 School on Friday, October 11, 2019.
Due to a public safety power shutoff by Edison, Paakuma’ School was without power for most of the day on Thursday, October 10. Classes remained in session, and students continued learning in a safe environment.
The longer the power outage is in effect, the more difficult it becomes to maintain student services at the highest levels. SBCSUD officials anticipate that Edison will continue to enforce the power outage through Friday, October 11 due to the high winds. A decision was made Thursday afternoon to close Paakuma’ School on Friday and monitor the situation over the weekend.
No other SBCUSD schools are impacted by the public safety power shutoffs as of 2 p.m. on October 10, 2019.
